R22 Phase Out For Refrigerant
Under Regulation EC2037/2000, by the end of 2009 the use of R22 refrigerant will be banned but it will be permissible to use recycled R22 for maintenance purposes until the end of 2014.
Equipments using R22, whilst efficient at the time of installation uses considerably more energy than the latest refrigeration and air conditioning plants that utilize non-HCFC refrigerants such as R410A and R407c, in some instances this can be more than a 50% reduction.
